Name: Dorothy A Swanson Dates: Birth date: February 23, 1925 Death date: February 22, 2010 Obituary: Dolores Alliene Swanson, 84, New Smyrna Beach FL died Monday, February 22, 2010. Dolores was born in Centerville, Iowa and came to this area in 1987 from Douds, IA. During her life she worked as an executive secretary for John Deere Company, Burlington Northern Railroad and the Eight Judicial District in Iowa. After she retired and came to New Smyrna Beach she worked for Beall’s Store and maintained an active lifestyle. She was active at Edgewater United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and traveled on a missions trip to Mexico.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Carol Kirkbride of Ankeny, IA and son Jan Poling of Birmingham, IA. Memorials: Memorial donations are requested to Leader Dogs for the Blind 1039 Rochester Road North Rochester Hills, MI 48307-3115. Service: Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 23 at Edgewater United Methodist Church. Committal will be at a later date at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa. |
